Pinoy Fashionista Shows Off Swimwear Designs

Pinoy Fashionista Shows Off Swimwear Designs

An aspiring fashion stylist launched a collection of his swimwear designs at a fashion show in London, marking his first ever outing as a fashion designer.

Filipino fashionista Jojo Almojuela revealed a capsule collection of his beachwear designs at a fashion show at superclub Pacha London, under his independent label House of Jojo.

The inaugural show featured an array of bikinis, swimsuits, swimming shorts and trunks, inspired by the Philippine islands and a penchant for color.

“I got the inspiration for the beachwear collection from the 7,107 islands of the Philippines, which means 7107 beach paradise of our beloved country that could be accessorized with my beautiful and sexy bikini collection,” Almojuela told ABS-CBN Europe.

Models walked on the catwalk in colorful swimwear with accessories from Flipcore, an independent label designed by another Filipino designer, Jonathan Estacio.

“The signature style of the pieces would be its uniqueness and the different colors that make a fashion statement with trendy and creative design,” Almojuela added.

Originally from Mindanao, the UK-based swimwear designer has previously worked on a number of fashion events and is hoping to pursue his love for fashion after launching his first collection in front of fashionistas, music-lovers, and party revelers in London.

If everything goes well, I might pursue it to the next level. And I’m also looking to go back in designing more modern traditional gowns for House of Jojo,” he said.
