5-Year Old Got Burned at Tanning Salon

A 44-year old New Jersey mom, Patricia Krentcil, is facing legal charges after she allegedly brought her 5-year-old daughter in one of the standup tanning booths in a tanning salon at Nutley, New Jersey.

Krentcil was arrested on a second degree child endangerment charge after the child sustained burns from time she spent in a tanning booth.

The child is now in the custody of her father, while Krentcil is out on bail.
Krentcil's husband Richard maintained his wife's innocence.
"She was outside Tuesday and it was 85 degrees out," said Richard. "She got sunburned. That's it. That's all that happened."

New Jersey law prohibits anyone under 14 years of age from using a tanning booth. Older teens are allowed to tan but only with parental consent.
