An 18-year old from Brandon, Mississippi, Skylar Laine, missed the top 4 and finishing in fifth-place. It was Skylar and Hollie who landed in the Bottom 2. And after gaining 60 million votes, it was Skylar who will go home.
Here are the "American Idol" results:
• Ryan Seacrest opened with Joshua Ledet being told -- right off the bat -- he was safe.
• Ryan Seacrest opened with Joshua Ledet being told -- right off the bat -- he was safe.
During the segment, mentor Jimmy Iovine said everyone at Interscope
Records will do everything possible to make Joshua a star. He looks
destined for the Top 2.
• After a live (and lackluster) performance from rock band Coldplay, Seacrest brought Phillip Philips and Hollie Cavanagh to the center of the stage.
• As I predicted, Hollie Cavanagh landed in the Bottom 2, and Phillip Phillips was safe.
• Carrie Underwood performed next: Dressed in a
flowing white dress and showing off her right leg (ala Angelina Jolie),
the "American Idol" winner performed "Blown Away," and sounded great. She is getting ready to go on a big tour.
• That left Jessica Sanchez and Sklyar Laine
left, and one of them would be in the Bottom 2 with Phillip. (I was
crossing my fingers that Jessica Sanchez could pull off this minor
upset.)
• Dim the lights and here we go....And it is Skylar Laine who landed in the Bottom 2.
• Whew! Now it comes down to Skylar or Hollie.
• Going home tonight after 60 million votes: Skylar Laine!
