Papa Chen Opens Up On Love
Papa Chen of "My Binondo Girl," Chinese-Cebuano actor Richard Yap, defied the Chinese tradition of being wedded to a fellow Chinese, when fell in love with a Filipina flight attendant who would eventually become his wife.
Yap, in an interview on "Showbiz Inside Report" aired Saturday, recounted his estrangement to his family following his marriage to his wife Melody, and his subsequent triumphs as a father, a businessman, and eventually, as an actor.
Yap is set to topbill a new TV series under ABS-CBN, where he will be paired with actress Jodi Sta. Maria.
Child actress Mutya Orquia also stars in the upcoming soap.
